The Naval Academy Baseball Classic, 1 April 2017, brought the Nationals and the Red Sox to Terwilliger Brothers Field. Max Scherzer threw five innings off our mound. Mookie Betts hit. Bryce Harper doubled. It ended 4–4 — in front of 1,030 people, almost every one of them a midshipman in uniform. No tickets sold. The brigade got the whole park.
